I'm sorry that you might have lost time of your life listening to her. I've always though Taylor Swift was a bit overrated and just another product of today's pseudo-music industry, and then I listened to a live performance. Wow. I would suspect that even someone with an untrained ear would be able to tell that not only does she have pitch problems, but Taylor Swift has the vocal range of a midget hitting a golf ball with a wet noodle. It's just plain bad. Sorry, I just had to rant about this.
She doesn't have a perfect voice, but she's a great song writer. There are universal feelings and themes present in the lives of adolescent girls and she captures them well. You're not her target audience. But yeah, that performance wasn't good at all.
It's not that it's not perfect, but it's well below amateur. It's almost insulting to anyone who has the talent or has worked at becoming a better vocalist. If she's good at writing songs (which I still question) then she should stick to writing songs, not performing.
